I have lived in Stevenage for most of my life, having grown up and gone to school here. I work at Tesco head office in store stock planning and in my spare time have an active interest in computers.
Public service has always been a great passion of mine and I have had the privilege to have served previously as Councillor for the Roebuck Ward and presently for the Longmeadow Ward. I have taken an active role in my duties as a community focussed councillor, having volunteered in a local garden group for many years and making myself as visible on the doorstep as I can.
As a member of local government I believe strongly in driving a robust message on home ownership, especially for those in the younger generations who struggle to get onto the housing ladder. The provision of quality houses is a subject close to me and one I believe will deliver greater prosperity for our town.
In my role as Councillor, I am a believer in strong scrutiny. I do not shy away from asking challenging questions and keeping the Council Executive on their toes. Strong scrutiny is an essential part of delivering local democracy and accountability.
