Stevenage’s Labour Council have released their plan to build 500 houses and flats along the A602, south of Bragbury End.
This development will mean potentially 1,000 extra people living in the local area.
Local roads are already gridlocked in traffic jams at peak times without adding hundreds of extra vehicles that will come with this development.
The bus service to Bragbury End, which is already unreliable, does not have the capacity to sustain a development of this size.
The Bragbury Village will be over 2 miles away from the nearest primary school and over 2.6 miles away from the nearest secondary school.
Labour’s development will also blur the boundary between Stevenage, Bragbury End, Hooks Cross and Datchworth.
We all understand the need for new homes, but poorly thought through, bolt on developments like this are not answer when they fail to properly upgrade local infrastructure to cope with the increased strain of extra housing.
I’m passionate about protecting Bragbury End’s rural character and will take this petition to the corridors of power at Stevenage Borough Council to ensure your voice is heard.
Please sign my petition so we can send a clear message that Bragbury End says NO to Labour’s development.
