I have been in local politics since 2009, since retiring from Banking, and am currently the County Councillor for St Nicholas Division in Stevenage, and a Borough Councillor for Woodfield Ward in the same town – I live in the middle of both areas.

I am currently the Leader of the Conservative Councillor Group on Stevenage Borough Council as well as being the official Leader of the Opposition to the ruling Labour executive. In this role I scrutinise Labour's policies and decisions as well as holding them to account on behalf of residents.

I also serve on the Conservative Cabinet at Hertfordshire County Council. As the Executive Member for Highways and Transport, I am responsible in Hertfordshire for the safety and maintenance of our highways, and new network infrastructure. I also cover transport strategy, including our Integrated Transport Plan.

In support to the local community, I have enjoyed being a governor of The Leys Primary and Nursery School since 2009.

In my spare time I like golf, exercise, travel, theatre and music, interests which my wife shares with me, and she is also heavily involved with our local St Nicholas church.

If you wish to contact me about any matter related to Stevenage Borough Council or Hertfordshire County Council, please do get in touch using the details on the left.
