I live in Stevenage with my wife Celia, we have 2 adult children and 2 grandchildren.
Originally from a commercial background, sales & general management, I now do some part-time work with a Hertfordshire charity in addition to my role as a Borough and County Councillor.
I have been a Councillor for the last 14 years, initially on East Herts District Council, and since 2015 I have represented Woodfield Ward on Stevenage Borough Council. I know from my experience that being a Councillor is not always easy but representing the community is something I really enjoy doing. It is a real honour to have been given the opportunity by voters to make a difference to residents experience with the Council.
I am currently the Deputy Leader of the Conservative Councillor Group on Stevenage Borough Council. In this role I support Conservative Group Leader Cllr Phil Bibby in challenging and scrutinising the decisions of the Council’s Labour leadership. I am also responsible for analysing the Council’s performance on regeneration and environmental matters- I ensure services are delivered properly, taxpayers get value for money and that regeneration projects deliver a town fit for the 21st century.
I enjoy rugby, as a spectator although still a VP at Hertford RFC, golf, DIY (when my arm is twisted), our wonderful countryside and holidays in rural France.
